Research and Planning Provisional Marks
You need to revisit all of your posts and spend a couple of hours adding some extra analysis where you can - mise en scene, narrative, representations, camera composition, lighting, sound, editing, branding, unique selling points. Also comment on some of the recent images and the footage you have posted recently. I would like to see some evidence of your time management - dates and timelines for production - and would love to see more of your video blogging. A good blog page - if you spend some more time making your research and planning feel more like an exciting journey then you'll really impress! 15/20

Draft of final Poster.
This is a draft for our final poster, we used an image of the zombie make-up that i have done and we used it for a poster.
We thought about
Virus Development Shots.
On our first day of shooting a few of our actors werent able to make it due to school rehursals or christmas play rehursals so we decided that we would film a variety of developing shots. On the day it was also very cloud and rainy so it was perfect for the image that we wanted to go for and inspired how the film will look today.
Because we know we wanted to use a school as its a relatable location for our target audience we tried to go to more obsucure places. For example a panning shot from above the buildings is on a stair case to a blocked part of the building meaning nobody really does up there. As the is an view of the building students wont know it will be more intreaging. Corridoors are something we really want to include in our production due to the grim lighting that occures when we change to colouring of the trailer.
0:00 - 0:04 // We filmed whilst walking down the E corridoor and after that we edited the clip to slow it down. This created a haunting atmosphere and made the camera jult more causing the light reflecting off the wall to give the illution its flickering. This technique and location is somthing we will probably use in a death scene of one of the lead charecters. The enclosed corridoors makes the audience feel costriphobic and alone which will in turn make the audience feel for human charecters in the corridoor as you can predict danger.
0:05 - 0:08 // The section of the year 7 playground I film here had to be cut due to the bright colours in the art windows and the brightly coloured blue and yellow doors. From this we learnt that bold colours dont work well as they still overpower the editing making it look amature.
0:09 - 0:12 // The field I feel is a really strong location due to the flat landscape across it, it really emphasises how alone the humans. Aswell as this the trees at the back when editied create a dark frame around the field emphasising on the enclosed space they live in makeing the audience feel they are safe.
0:15 - 17// The building shown are as bright as I would would to include any colour in our production. Any brighter I think the building become to obvious and it takes the attention away from whats happening in the scene.
0:32 - 0:35// The playground is a good location as its the most steryotypical location in a school, reminding the audience where its set. Aswell as this the fencing around the edge of the play ground also makes it seem like a prison, making it appear dangerous.
0:41 - 0:45// This is possible my favirote location due to the dug up ground making the school grounds appear untended to as if it has been left. It also suggests a sort of aftermass of the Zombie apocalips as if a veichal of some sort has driven and taken up the grass. Aswell as this the puddles of dirt make it seem dirty and abandoned.

Zombie Poster.
Making a zombie poster.
When making a zombie poster we have to think about what images we use, what font we use and what colours we should use, by looking at these posters of zombie films it is present that we should use some sort of zombie-like image, just like 'Zombie' 'The Zombie Diaries' and 'Day of the Dead', however we could use a zombie like object or feature as the main picture. the font and colour seem to focus on being very bold, thick and red, this shows that when creating our poster we should use bold fonts and bright blood red coloring.
This here is a template of what a poster should look like, we can base our posters off this so that we can make it look as ourthentic as possible.

Teaser Trailer for VIRUS
While we were producing our film trailer, we decided to create a teaser trailer for our film. A teaser trailer is usually released a long time before the main trailer, and is used to build hype around the film. We decided to create one, as we wanted the chance to play around with marketing, and see what ideas we could apply to the teaser. We added rock music and a special filter to the footage to enhance the cold and isolation of the footage.
We decided to have the scene set in a fire escape
Overall we are happywith the syle of our teaser trailer and we really enjoyed creating it.
'Virus' Storyboard
This video is our 'Virus' trailer storyboard.(the figures with the red parts are the zombies)
The locations for half of this storyboard will be at our school grounds, we decided this because with our time manegment we thought it would be quick and easy to film.
For some of our shots (mostly the end action shots) we will be filming anywhere we can, because these shots will only last for about 2/3 seconds we can choose a spur of the moment location and shoot there.
We decided to use 'rock' music because we want the viewer to feel exhillerating while watching the trailer, we want the music to build up to the fast action shots to create a suspense through the beginning and then creating a loud 'drop' of music in the action shots.
The special effects we will use is mostly for sound because we will have gun shots to make the props seem real, and use overlaping sound of zombie noises instead of making the actors do it in front of the camera we think we will record a backing track of the noises to create a more theatrical trailer.
we chose to do a range of shots because we wanted a diverse type of trailer, ranging around medium shots, close- ups and long shots. the medium and long shots will be used for when we are filming action and 'battle' scenes, the close-ups will be used for when we want to focus on a characters expression or their speech.
We will be involving fast black transitions, by doing this is gives the trailer a fast pace making the viewer feel like there is alot happening, and makes them wonder what is going on behind the black transitions making them want to go to the cenima and see the whole of the film to know what is really happening.

Own Production company 'Splatter Studios'
We decided that instead of using an existing production company we thought that creating and using our own would be more better and beneficial. instead of this production just being for a selection of horror films, it would specialise only in zombie and gore films.
This clip is the final product for our own production company, and it will go at the beginning of our trailer.
'Splatter studios' was a good choice because it can be related to gore and even blood 'splatter'. Its bold and dark colouring and creepy font will hopefully grab the attention of our viewers, who will be our rating of 15+.

unlicenced music.
After some searching i discovered a website that allows people to use their music, it is a website listed with unlicensed music.
i thought this would be beneficial because i think that we would have trouble making the right music to go with our trailer.
the music for our trailer that we want is a very rock-ish style, this is because we want the viewer to feel exhilarated and give the effect of adrenaline making the viewers heart pump.
below are some samples of music from this specific website that i think would suit our trailer.
Noise attack.
Summon thee Rawk.
Final photograph of make-up.
This is a photograph of the self done zombie make-up down below, the results turned out very well, and as you can see i have manipulated the photograph in Photoshop, seeing as photography is one of my huge interests i could take my photographic skills and use then within my media, the photographic manipulation is present within my eyes, i have made them look all white and very zombie like, this shows that if we gout white contacts we could go very far with the zombie look.
We have even thought about using this photograph as a promotional photograph/magazine cover/ poster for our film and trailer.

Self done Zombie Make-up
The make-up that we will be using is very important in our trailer making, we want it to look professional just like in the movies.
Fortunately i practice and use prosthetic make-up in my spare time so i was able to use my skill in this to use in our trailer, the time-lapse video is me doing a demonstration shown a make-up option for 'Virus', By doing this i was able to experiment with the different materials and colours that i could get a hold of, we were able to get an idea of how long it would take to apply this certain make-up to other actors.
By me recording this in 1080p HD we were able to see what the final product may look like because some types of camera can make some prosthetic make-up look very fake, this is also beneficial because we are using the same HD camera when filming for our trailer, we are now happy with our plans and will proceed forward.
The materials that i used for this tutorial are;
- face wax
- concealer
- face powder
- gel blood
Types of zombies.
Types of zombies.
The Generic Zombie(The Walking Dead)-- The Generic Zombie is a human that has been brought back to life and shuffles, moans and is unable to move properly. Always very aggressive, but not very fast. They are usually the victims of a virus messes up the brain, stopping everything and thus creating the zombie. These types of zombies come from no-where, anyone can catch the virus by a bite and become a zombie. The virus is normally transferred via a bite, however any transfer of bodily fluids may also give the victims the virus.
- Resident Evil Zombies were zombies created accidentally via the T-Virus and other types of virus, created by the Umbrella Corporation. These zombies vary from other zombie as not just humans can become infected, but animals and plants as well. The zombies in Resident Evil are listed bellow:
- Hyper Zombies: These zombies are freshly made and they tend to sprint fast towards humans, they're stronger and a bit faster than the general zombies.
- Crimson Heads: After suffering a large T-Virus infection, the zombies start to gain a red-ish skin colour, their fingers get claws and they start to release a gas. they become more aggressive but faster and can take a number of hits before dying.
- Lickers: Is the final evolution of a zombie as the Crimson Head(red skin zombies) "evolves" into a faster predator. They lose sight, but instead they gain super hearing and get the ability to walk on walls like bugs. Also they look like as they've been skinned or turned inside out. They attack their prey with their sharp claws and their long tongue.
- The Crazies are a rare infected who have been infected with a ' Rhabdoviridae Prototype (fictional toxin) ' called Trixie that drives them insane and have the urge to murder after catching it. They are special because after becoming infected, they gain the homicidal and irrational drive of a Zombie, but do not lose any of their intelligence, memories, use of weapons, or coordination - they simply become entirely drived to killing anyone non Crazy. they have been known to stand still like a statue, holding their positions, lying in wait for the victims. this infection/virus also kills its host after 48 hours.
- Voodoo Zombies are individuals created by a witch doctor through mixtures of poisons and herbs. These are the first Zombies, Other Voodoo Zombies are re-animated corpses brought back from the dead by Voodoo rituals. Salt can be used against them, causing them to realize they are dead, and return to their grave.

This YouTube video sums up the evolution of the zombie very nicely, watching this has given me an insight on what types of zombies are in the media;

Representations.
Antagonist-
The antagonists for this trailer will be the zombies. the zombies will be creating chaos and will be chasing the victims. we want the viewers to be grossed out by these zombies, so their behaviour and look should be disgusting, we want blood to be everywhere.

Victims-
The victims for our trailer and going to be the survivors that are placed in this post-apocalyptic world, they have to fend for themselves, and because they are under 18 it makes it very difficult for them. because our rating is a 15, making these characters under 18 means that any under 18's viewing the trailer means that they can sympathise with these victims and can imagine themselves in this situation.

Costumes.
For example, the survivors will be dressed in suitable clothing, padding for protection and suited up in protective gear. they will have weapons at had, weather it is a baseball bat or a gun. this kind of costume can be found in films such as Zombieland and resident evil.
Locations.
Filming location 2-
Leatherhead.

We can also film in leatherhead town as around this time of year it's lit up really well as it gets dark very early, which means we can create dark and eerie scenes for the trailer. Although the lighting will be good it also means we have little time to film if we want natural light scenes, this is where therfield can come in.
Filming Locations
Filming location 2-
On school grounds.

Hopefully we would also be able to have more extras and actors in our trailer if we film parts in school. we would hopefully be able to get permission to film after school, this means we will put some props around us making it a more believable post apocalyptic location.

Planning Targets
Well done so far!
Include some pie charts to support your analysis of your questionnaire and design or find titles that will create brand identity. Some location research and storyboard needs to be evidenced by Friday - that way you can film some footage over Friday. A long term target: video-blog things like make-up trails and costume sourcing!
Keep going!

Plot Summary
Fifteen years have passed since the united nations released a virus that would help control the population of the world and the years that followed saw the population start to dwindle. The United Nations believed that the virus was succesful, and released it with no further testing. This mistake proved to be fatal. Two years after the second strain was released, a man in Colorado had his throat ripped out by his girlfriend, who then ate his internal organs, turning completely feral.
Fastforward eight years, where the world has been ravaged by Zombies, and the only people unaffected are those under the age of 18.

Title/Font Ideas
We decided that the font for our film title should be bold and red, as it is bold colour that makes people think of blood and horror. We researched different fonts that we thought would fit well with our film, once we'd selected a few we used them with a few titles we'd been thinking of using for our film: Outbreak, Virus, Zombie Run and Eighteen.

Outbreak: Outbreak was an good title because it also looks at how the Zombie plague spread across the world and infected the population gradually. We used this font because it's similar to blood spattering and that will fit in with our film as people are fighting against zombies.

Virus: We thought that Virus was an interesting title to use as it fits with the story or the zombie plauge, we used this font as it is reminiscent of zombies rising from the dead, we even thought about manipulating this title to animation, to make the hands move when the title is appeared, but this is still an idea.

Zombie Run: We liked the title of Zombie Run as this is what the main characters would be running away from the zombies or even running towards the to kill them. This font is a very stereotypical horror font that is reminiscent of the classic horror films that were released in the 1970's.

Eighteen: The title Eighteen is linked into the fact that in the film no people under the age of 18 can become a zombie which is stated in our film summery, as that is the mutation of the disease and the main plot.We liked this font as it is quite messy and looks like it has been written in blood.

Moodboard.
- still from Shaun of the dead- our characters want to look quite stupid and not have a clue whats going on.
- these zombies look very lifeless, and that is what we want.
- chaos, chaos is what fuels the fire to a good zombie film, and that's what we want.
- we somehow want to include fire, fire comes with chaos.
- we want the characters to be sort of lost and lonely, feeling very hopeless.
- we are not sure how we want the zombies to look, we are even considering painting them green!
- we somehow want to incorporate a water scene where water or a river is involved.
- we want hoards of zombies, hoards make great action scenes, especially when you want to go on a killing spree!
- the clothing is going to be very worn, like these zombies have been rotting for a while.
- the survivors will carry warfare, guns and weapons to fight of these flesh eating parasites.
- the world will be in post-apocalyptic times, and will convey to the stereotypical 'end of the world' scene.

Zombie makeup tutorials.
YouTube Zombie tutorials.
These zombie make-up tutorials are very helpful when preparing to do make-up.
we have researched into different types of zombie make-up and how to apply it, which is demonstrated in the YouTube tutorials above.
these are also very helpful to see what type of zombies are out there, weather they are blood thirsty-blood everywhere zombies or timid yet freakishly weird zombies!
make up tests.

These photographs are some of my previous works using prosthetic make-up.
This is very helpful when doing a zombie trailer because i can use my skill throughout.
this can be sort of like a magazine which demonstrates my ability, when doing the make-up we can look back at these photographs and pick what ones we should use at the time, and which ones would be good on each actor.

Audeince Profiling
For Shaun of the dead the male gender is the dominante in watching this specific film, this could be because not only is it a zombie film, it is a comedy also, this could mean that our trailer would be specifically aimed at men. The age range for this film is 15-24 which is basically teenagers an young adults, this could be because again, it is a comedy involving two actors known for being funny.
For resident evil, the main age group to watch this film is 15-24 which means that our trailer should be aimed at young adults and teenagers. The male gender is the most popular to watch this film, this could be because the film involves horror zombie, and also an attractive young woman (Milla Jovovich), this means that are gender audience target should be male.

For I am Legend the main gender group is male, closely followed by females, this would be because the main character is a male (will smith) an the audience can somewhat relate, and because the film is an action thriller/horror with zombies. The main age group that watches this film is 15-24, this shown that my trailer should be targeted at young adults and teenagers.
